Hire Up Staffing is proud to partner with a respected local community agency in the Visalia area to find a qualified Director of Human Resources for a full-time contract assignment covering a leave. This opportunity offers a meaningful role in a mission-driven organization, with competitive hourly pay ranging from $35–$37/hr.
Position Overview:
The Director of Human Resources will lead and manage the organization's comprehensive HR strategy, ensuring full compliance with federal, state, and grant regulations. This role is responsible for overseeing recruitment, employee relations, policy development, training initiatives, and organizational compliance with employment laws and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities Include:

Overseeing all HR functions, ensuring compliance with state and federal laws

Managing recruitment, onboarding, and employee retention strategies

Leading conflict resolution efforts and conducting internal investigations

Updating and enforcing HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook

Administering corporate safety and DMV pull programs

Overseeing training programs and corporate development

Responding to external HR-related complaints (e.g., DFEH, Labor Commissioner)

Supervising a team of up to 10 employees, including hiring and performance management

Maintaining fringe benefit packages and compensation structure

Driving HR metrics, reporting, and continuous improvement
What We’re Looking For:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field OR equivalent experience (10+ years preferred)

Strong background in employment law, compliance, and California HR regulations

Proven experience in conflict resolution and investigations

Ability to develop HR metrics and reporting tools

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and team-building skills

Moderate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
