Job Description
Hire Up Healthcare is partnering up with one of our most trusted clients in San Jose, California. They are looking to fill a permanent position for a CVICU Registered Nurse.
Facility Details:
This is a 474 bed acute care hospital in the heart of Silicon Valley, with two locations, the main campus in San Jose, California and the Mission Oaks campus in Los Gatos, California. Has been voted a “ Family Favorite” hospital for more than ten years. It is one of only ten hospitals nationwide to be awarded the Outstanding Achievement Award from the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer four consecutive times. This hospital is a leader in neurosciences, high-risk obstetrics, advanced cardiology and innovative surgery techniques, and is a Joint Commission-certified Comprehensive Stroke Center and an accredited Chest Pain Center.
Position Summary:
Coordinates total nursing care for critically ill patients, averaging in age from 57-70 years. Primary patient population served cardiac patients. Participates in patient/family teaching and provides leadership by working cooperatively with members of the health care team to maintain standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. Participates in organizational and unit based quality improvement activities. Is able to provide mentorship and guidance to new employees.
Licensure/ Certification/Registration:
Minimum: CA RN, BCLS, ACLS, NIHSS Stroke
Education:
Minimum: High School Graduate or equivalent. Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Experience:
1Year minimum critical care nursing in Cardiac
Experience Requirements:
This is a very high acuity ICU with a mixture of cardiac patients with multiple comorbidities (very sick patient population) -you may be required to provide care for patients with any of the below listed clinical specialty needs.
1. Comprehensive stroke Center-EVD ICP experience and knowledge of taking care of stroke patients with post stroke intervention experience.
2. Open heart experience helpful.
3. CRRT, Balloon pumps, Impella experience beneficial as we frequently manage patients with these medical devises.
4. This is a very fast paced Cardiac ICU.
Qualifications/Skills:
Minimum: Ability to use critical thinking skills and prioritize aspects of patient care; possesses good interpersonal communication skills. Is able to calculate medication dosages and safely administer medications within the critical care setting.
Special Notes:
17 Beds for CVICU and 20 Beds for MCNSICU
Very fast paced environment must be able to adjust well to change and multitask Culture of the facility/unit is with a diverse staff with seasoned nurses and new grads MUST have Cardiac experience.
Will Accept Pending CA License
Salary: Starting at $63.73 - $87.63 per hour based on years of experience.
Night Shift $6.00 differential and $2.00 Weekends
Sign on Bonus: $30, 000 Sign on Bonus - The payment breakdown is $10k upon hire, $10k upon 1st year anniversary, and $10k upon 2nd year anniversary. NO EXCEPTIONS
Relocation: - Case by case basis
