Job Description
Hire Up Staffing Services is currently looking for a Pharmacy Coordinator for a client in the Visalia, CA area. This is a temp to hire opportunity with a starting pay of $17 - $20 DOE.
Position Summary:
- Responsible for helping to supervise the preparing of pharmaceutical prescriptions in an accurate and timely manner, and to provide the related clerical and clinical pharmacy service.
Performance Expectations:
- Will work under direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist performing duties considered acceptable by that respective Board of Pharmacy.
- Under direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist, prepares prescriptions for filling, checks the compounding record, gathers necessary medications and solutions, prepares the prescription and products for the pharmacist to check, and compounds the prescription under direct pharmacist supervision, as allowed by the respective State Board of Pharmacy.
- Performs daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning of pharmacy anteroom and cleanroom per standards.
- Processes refills and new prescriptions for IV patients as needed.
- Adjudicates electronic claims for IV Orders. Will submit prior authorizations and/or TARs as needed.
- Coordinates mixing times for pharmacy technicians with delivery times for the delivery coordinator. Will maintain daily delivery sheets and “Order to Mix” lists.
- Assists with patient follow up and lab calls as needed
- Arrange follow up calls for all patients as needed.
- Submit medication orders from wholesaler as needed.
- Processes new referrals for on call pharmacists.
- Provides clerical and phone support for the office.
- Any other duties deemed appropriate by the pharmacy director and/or director of operations.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of a Pharmacy Technician program with certification.
- Minimum of two years related experience and a knowledge of pharmacy procedures, including parenteral admixtures.
- High school diploma/GED
