Job Description
Hire Up Staffing has partnered with a reputable Event Management Organization in the Houston area, who is searching for a Staff Accountant to join their team.
The Accounts Payable Specialist will be a vital member of the accounting team. This person will be maintaining financial records and reports, performing vendor account reconciliations, assisting with the closing process, assisting with internal audits, and maintaining accounts payable documentation. They will also assist the Controller and accounting team as needed.
Responsibilities/Duties:

- Work with vendors to manage accounts and balances
- Process payments timely
- Manage high volume of accounts payable accurately and efficiently
- Responding timely to information requests
- Maintaining documentation for accounts payable
- Analyze invoices, resolve accounting discrepancies, and charge expenses to accounts
- Ensuring compliance with GAAP
Requirements:
Â
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting
- Proficient in Microsoft Word/Excel/
- Must have at least 3 years of QuickBooks experience
- Incredibly accurate and detail oriented
- Ability to multi-task, change priorities, manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent communication, time management and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- A Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a Bachelor’s degree in business with an emphasis in accounting is a plus
- Ability to assume responsibility for completion of projects in the absence of direct supervision
