Job Description
Educational Requirements:
- Possess a minimum of a High School Diploma or GED
- As part of a team, you will work with limited supervision and interact with others as needed.
- Complete the setup and operation of various CNC Lathes and Mills, performing supplementary operations to produce unique, one-off parts.
- Manually and automatically, set up and run machines using sound machining, quality, and safety practices. Adjust tooling to close tolerances, often less than .001. Make tooling adjustments and changes while the machine is in cycle using the tool conveyor.
- During machine cycles, perform all supplementary operations, such as gaging, part loading and unloading, deburring, fixture loading, and serializing, to ensure a finished machined, quality part for assembly.
- Utilize precision measuring equipment, including .0001 indicators, dial or electronic bore gages, Jo Blocks, inside and outside micrometers, depth mics, verniers, etc.
- Assist in prove outs, adjusting feeds, speeds, etc., to establish a program that runs without operator intervention.
- Capable of editing programs and effectively communicating changes to the Programmer.
- Conduct daily, weekly, and other scheduled minor preventative maintenance tasks, including filling lube pots, maintaining coolant supply, grease fittings, and run control diagnostics.
- Perform mechanical and minor electro-mechanical maintenance within the cell.
- Remain alert and attentive to machine performance and operation.
- Foster communication with other Shift Operators regarding machine and tool operations, as well as scheduling plans to ensure smooth cell operation.
- Collaborate with support personnel, offering suggestions for improvements in tool life, part quality, productivity, communication, and cell appearance, aiming to enhance overall effectiveness.
