Job Description

Hire Up Staffing is working with a well-respected equipment company in Fresno CA to find a Cost Estimator to join their team. This is a direct hire opportunity that is a vital part of the company's sales process and growth!  Salary range is $55K-$60K plus a competitive benefits package. 
As a Cost Estimator, you will play a crucial sales role with responsibilities including:

  • Market Insight: Stay current with new products, industry trends, and market costs and pricing, enabling you to make informed decisions in your cost estimation.

  • Collaboration: Collaborate closely with the sales team and vendors during the proposal process to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.  Participate in inside sales activities with the goal of increasing revenue and customer satisfaction.

  • Data Analysis: Correlate all cost, sell, and specification information within the timeframe of bid dates, recommending appropriate margins to maximize profitability.

  • Timely Proposals: Ensure that proposals are priced in a timely, complete, and accurate manner, allocating time for reviews to maintain quality and consistency.

  • Vendor Relationships: Acquire pricing from vendors and verify its competitiveness and completeness. Identify alternative product options that align with customer requirements.

  • Project Files: Maintain current and organized project files to facilitate the smooth transition of project files to work order writers.

  • Data Management: Build and maintain pricing measurements for decision-making processes. Gather the required data for quote preparation and download necessary specifications and plans.

  • Cost Control: Maintain and update product cost budgets to support our commitment to efficient manufacturing processes.

Desired Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:

  • Possession of a valid California driver's license.

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.

  • A Bachelor's degree in business management and/or industrial technology is preferred, but a minimum of 5 years of full-time industrial experience will also be considered.

  • Strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain rapport with a diverse population, including colleagues, customers, and vendors.

  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines consistently.
  • A strong commitment to sales while providing excellent customer service.
