Job Description
Hire Up is seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Counter Sales Representative to join our client in NW Houston!
This role involves direct interaction with customers to identify their needs, process orders, and provide outstanding service. The ideal candidate will have a strong sales acumen, technical aptitude, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide hands-on, face-to-face assistance to customers, identifying their product needs and recommending appropriate solutions.
- Process quotes and purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely follow-up.
- Collaborate with the Store Manager on various operational aspects, including sales, inventory, shipping/receiving, signage, displays, and equipment maintenance.
- Expand sales opportunities with existing customers while cultivating new accounts.
- Identify and report new applications, market trends, competitor activities, and marketing strategies to management.
Skills Required:
- Professional sales, customer service, and communication skills.
- Ability to recognize sales opportunities beyond the customer’s stated requirements.
- Proficiency in reading, analyzing, and interpreting technical documents and specifications.
- Strong business correspondence skills for effective communication with customers and the sales team.
- Technical aptitude to understand and explain product applications.
Qualifications:
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on delivering an exceptional customer experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Positive attitude and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Basic knowledge of industrial products and components (preferred).
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365, including Outlook, and familiarity with Salesforce.
- Experience with Epicor Prophet 21 software is a plus.
- Prior sales experience is preferred.
