Customer Support Engineer (RF / Mission-Critical Communications)

In-Office | No Remote | No Relocation
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Customer Support Engineer to provide technical guidance and application support for highly specialized RF equipment used in mission-critical communications. This role supports customers, sales, and internal teams by delivering accurate technical recommendations and hands-on product expertise.

Important: This is not an IT, software, cellular, or general electrical role. Candidates with backgrounds primarily in IT or cellular wireless will not be considered.
Pay & Schedule

  • $45.67 per hour

  • Schedule: Mon-Fri 
What You’ll Do

  • Serve as a technical point of contact for customers and internal teams via phone and email

  • Answer application and product questions related to RF hardware and system configurations

  • Support sales efforts by reviewing customer requirements and recommending appropriate solutions

  • Assist with basic technical layouts, block diagrams, drawings, and equipment lists

  • Review customer orders to ensure selected equipment aligns with intended use

  • Provide troubleshooting guidance and clear technical explanations

  • Maintain and update product documentation, datasheets, and manuals

  • Learn and follow internal engineering and sales processes
What You Bring

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly

  • Willingness to learn specialized RF equipment, theory of operation, and tuning concepts

  • Ability to document processes, troubleshooting steps, and technical information

  • Comfortable using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and similar tools

  • Detail-oriented, organized, and customer-focused
Experience & Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology OR equivalent hands-on experience

  • 8–10+ years of experience in RF, two-way radio, or mission-critical communications preferred

  • Experience with equipment such as transmitter combiners, RF filters, antennas, duplexers, receiver multicouplers, tower-top amplifiers, and custom RF subsystems

  • IT, networking, or cellular-only experience will not meet requirements
Compensation & Benefits

  • $45.67 per hour

  • Full benefits package including:

  • Annual bonus eligibility based on overall company performance (not guaranteed)
