Direct Support Professional
Job Description
Hire Up Healthcare is looking for Direct Support Professionals for various facilities for our client in the Philadelphia area! Are you compassionate, patient, and dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of adults facing behavioral health challenges? If so, we are looking for you! All shifts are available, including part time and per diem shifts. Pay is $16.50-$17/hr to start. All positions are contract to hire!
As a DSP, you will provide essential support and supervision to individuals with Intellectual Developmental Disabilities and behavioral health histories, fostering healthy and socially acceptable behaviors in community-based settings. You will work closely with clinical staff, implement interventions, and assist clients in achieving their clinical goals. If you have at least 1 year of experience in adult mental health, are engaging, and have cooking skills, we want to hear from you!
Essential Duties and Functions:
- Provide supervision to individuals based on their personal support plan
- Administer medication as needed, adhering to protocols and guidelines.
- Assist consumers in activities of daily living, including meal preparation, toileting, and personal hygiene.
- Support community integration activities and facilitate access to community resources, such as medical appointments and social services.
Administrative:
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client interactions and progress.
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to ensure effective support and care.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED required
- Basic computer skills and internet literacy, including proficiency in email and other software applications.
- Prior experience in the human services field, especially in adult mental health, is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
