Division Controller

Job Description
This is a Direct Hire position with a salary range up to $156,000/year depending on experience.
Reporting to: Corporate Controller
Summary: This position will be managing the day-to-day accounting operations and month end close, be responsible for understanding how operations affects the financial results, effectively communicating findings, problem solve with the plants / other departments, maintain accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Learn current business processes
- Analyze the organization’s income and expenditures to support decision making
- Prepare monthly financial statements for 3 companies, including consolidation
- Manage and develop staff performing accounting and customer service duties
- Ensure compliance with deadlines, regulations and tax laws
- Oversee month end close and budget planning
- Prepare and approve journal entries
- Prepare management reports as needed
- Gather support for audits
- Special projects and/or other duties as assigned
Requirements & Expectations:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Professional certificate such as CPA, CMA or CFM (preferred)
- Previous experience in a Controller role or practical training or experience in an audit or CPA firm is beneficial
- 8+ years of senior accounting level experience or higher
- Minimum five years’ preparing financial statements
- Previous experience in manufacturing or agriculture industry
- Knowledge of:
- SAP or other large ERP experience is highly desired
- Accounting operations including A/R, A/P, GL, Fixed Assets, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition
- Advanced level proficiency in MS Excel
- Ability to demonstrate strong analytical abilities and mathematical skills
- Valid California driver’s license and insurable DMV
