HR Assistant
Location: South Fresno Area, CA
Pay: $22–$26/hour, depending on experience
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM or 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Overtime: Available and may be required based on business needs
Position: Full-Time

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable HR Assistant to join the Human Resources team of an established organization in the South Fresno area. This is a great opportunity for someone with HR or administrative experience who enjoys staying organized, supporting employees, and working as part of a busy HR department.

The HR Assistant will work closely with the HR team to support recruiting, onboarding, employee records, HR documentation, scheduling, and day-to-day administrative needs. The ideal candidate is highly organized, professional, comfortable working with confidential information, and able to manage multiple priorities.
Key Responsibilities

  • Post open positions to job boards and recruiting websites

  • Assist with reviewing and screening resumes and applications

  • Schedule interviews and confirm candidate availability

  • Gather, organize, and maintain employment applications

  • Assist with new-hire paperwork and onboarding preparation

  • Enter and update new-hire and employee information

  • Maintain accurate employee personnel files and HR records

  • Proofread HR documents for accuracy and completeness

  • Prepare and update documents using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Track HR projects, priorities, deadlines, and outstanding items

  • File and organize confidential employee documentation

  • Respond to routine employee questions and direct more complex matters to the appropriate HR team member

  • Assist with employee events and other employee-focused initiatives

  • Provide general administrative support to the HR department

  • Assist with additional HR projects and responsibilities as needed
Qualifications

  • Previous Human Resources or related administrative experience preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; candidates currently pursuing a related degree or with equivalent experience will also be considered

  • General working knowledge of U.S. employment and labor laws

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments and deadlines

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Professional interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with employees at all levels

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Flexibility to work overtime when business needs require

  • Valid California driver's license and clean driving record may be required
Physical & Work Environment
This position is primarily office-based and requires regular computer work, typing, filing, and document preparation. Candidates should be comfortable sitting for extended periods as well as occasionally bending, reaching, crouching, or lifting and carrying materials weighing approximately 20 pounds.
Compensation & Schedule
Pay: $22–$26/hour DOE
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM or 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with overtime as needed.

Compensation will be based on the candidate's level of HR, administrative, recruiting, and employee support experience.
