Job Description

Hire Up Staffing is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Healthcare Grant Manager in the San Antonio, TX area!

Responsible for managing all aspects of pre/post-award grant and contract operations, ensuring compliance with internal and external procedures. Directly oversees staff activities and participates in operational reviews.

Job Functions:
Demonstrates deep knowledge of grant and contract concepts, applying them to diverse and complex situations.
Utilizes extensive understanding of sponsored program principles, practices, and regulations.
Negotiates effectively by establishing rapport, active listening, and seeking optimal trade-offs.
Leads initiatives, fosters a collaborative team environment and enhances operational workflows.
Manages projects with strong organizational and multitasking skills in dynamic environments.
Communicates effectively with stakeholders using superior interpersonal and presentation abilities.
Integrates ethical values and accountability into all organizational practices.
Proficient in MS Office Suite with strong computing skills.
Manages and oversees pre/post-award processes, including reviewing and approving staff activities.
Assigns duties and monitors progress for pre/post-award tasks.
Conducts internal and external training on pre/post-award procedures.
Guides faculty and staff on proposal submission requirements and interprets sponsor guidelines.
Interprets policies, prepares specialized reports for federal agencies, and advises academic departments.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements:
•    Bachelor's degree required.
•    MBA or Master's degree preferred.
•    Minimum seven (7) years of related experience, including two (2) years in a supervisory role.

Additional Information: Successful performance may lead to extension and potential permanent employment.

Preferred Experience:
•    Experience with NIH and other federal grants.
•    Previous work with NIH contracts.
•    Budget forecasting and resource management.
•    Risk forecasting and management.
•    Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
•    Strategic budgetary planning and resource management.
•    Ability to manage multiple sub-contracts across institutions.
•    Preparation of NIH grant Research Performance Progress Reports (RPPR).
