Shop Service Technician
Job Description
Hire Up Staffing is currently seeking an experienced Shop Service Technician for a well-established industrial services company in Odessa, TX. This is a mid-level position ideal for individuals with a strong background in mechanical and electrical maintenance specifically within compressed air systems.
Key Responsibilities:

Diagnose and repair various air compressor equipment, including centrifugal, oil-free, and reciprocating piston units

Perform preventive maintenance and service tasks in a timely and efficient manner

Rebuild, recondition, and troubleshoot components using proper tools and diagnostic equipment

Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams
-
Ensure all equipment is maintained in a clean, safe, and operational condition

Mentor junior technicians as needed

Provide excellent customer communication and support

Submit accurate and timely service reports and paperwork

Assist in fabrication and assembly of industrial equipment packages

Participate in ongoing technical training and safety compliance
-
Be available for on-call support as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Minimum 2+ years of experience in electrical/mechanical industrial repair, with a focus on air compressor systems
-
Technical knowledge of control systems, PLCs, VSDs, and automation components
-
Familiarity with hydraulic/pneumatic systems and air treatment processes
-
Proficiency using tools such as multimeters, amp meters, and vibration analyzers
-
Experience with various piping installations (copper, black, aluminum, galvanized)

Diesel-powered equipment maintenance experience is a plus
-
EPA Freon certification and HVAC exposure is a plus
-
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
-
Spanish-speaking ability is a plus
