Location: Fresno, CA
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary Range: $110,000 – $130,000/year (Depending on Experience)

Job Summary:
Hire Up Staffing is currently recruiting for an experienced HVAC Mechanical Design Engineer on behalf of a well-established client located in Fresno, CA. This is a full-time, direct-hire opportunity offering competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC system design for commercial, retail, medical, and office facilities, from initial concept through final mechanical submittal plans.

A P.E. license is optional but preferred. Strong familiarity with California Mechanical Codes and Title 24 Energy Compliance is required.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Design HVAC systems for commercial, retail, medical, and office projects

  • Develop complete HVAC mechanical submittal plans using AutoCAD

  • Ensure designs meet California Mechanical Codes and Title 24 compliance standards

  • Complete all necessary Title 24 documentation

  • Attend and participate in project meetings with architects, developers, and clients

  • Communicate design intent clearly with clients and internal teams

  • Coordinate with field superintendents to clarify project scope and design plans

  • Review and revise designs based on project requirements and feedback

  • Maintain strong professional communication and documentation throughout the project lifecycle
Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in HVAC mechanical design, preferably in commercial projects

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and HVAC design tools

  • Strong understanding of California Mechanical Codes and Title 24 requirements

  • Ability to meet and communicate effectively with clients, architects, and project teams

  • Must be able to attend on-site meetings and perform site assessments as needed

  • P.E. License is optional but highly desirable

  • Strong references confirming prior HVAC design experience
Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary range: $110,000 – $130,000/year (commensurate with experience)

  • Company-provided vehicle or monthly vehicle allowance

  • Fuel and business expense reimbursement
