Job Description
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors in a pleasant manner
- work alongside ophthalmologists to perform eye exams, diagnose diseases and administer treatments in caring for patients' eyes and eyesight
- Prepare examination rooms for patients before and in between visits
- Assist patients as needed with health questionnaires
- Escort patients to examination rooms
- Interviews patients, measures vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and records information on patients' charts
- Assists in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician
- Clean and sterilize instruments
- Set up supplies in procedure room
- May be required to draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis
- Cross-train to cover front desk when coverage is needed
- May be required to float to other clinics as needed
- Other duties as assigned
