Job Title: Bilingual Front Desk Representative
Location: Fresno, CA
Job Summary:
Reporting to the Front Desk Representative, this position is the first point of contact and creates the first impression of the medical office. The Front Office Representative is an expert at providing excellent customer services via phone and in person. This position is considered a crucial link between the patient and the care delivered by clinical and service staff. The incumbent must work collaboratively with all service staff in support of direct patient services, exhibiting flexibility, and embodying a “can do” attitude. The position exemplifies the core values and mission of the organization, always exercising utmost discretion, diplomacy and tact in patient/staff interactions. Punctuality is key.
Schedule:
- Monday – Friday (Weekend as needed)
- 8am – 5pm
Pay:
- $23.00 DOE
Essential Job Functions:
- Welcomes patients, visitors, physicians and staff in a warm, friendly and professional manner.
- Answers the telephones by the third ring in a friendly, professional manner.
- Helps to enroll patients in patient portal as needed. Sends and email for registration if they are a new patient
- Takes complete and accurate messages with the current date and time and delivers messages to the appropriate party as soon as possible.
- At patient check-in, completes and or updates patient information in Intergy; patients’ chart.
- Ensures a current authorization was obtained by eligibility department.
- Collects co-payments; makes copy of insurance information/card, and; follows “Red Flag” policy confirming patient’s identification, including taking patient’s photo and verifying two forms of patient identification.
- Maintains, cleans and organizes the patient reception area/ lobby as needed. Ensures television in waiting area is on at the beginning of the day and off at the end of the day.
- Performs data entry of patient demographics, referrals and billing information.
- Balances cash drawer daily and prepares daily deposit. Maintains cash log records for RCM & accountings review.
- Documents “no shows” in Intergy system and in the patient’s chart. Mailing of “no show” letter per office policy and retains copy of letter for patient’s chart.
- Inventories and stocks office supplies needed for front desk.
- Performs other administrative duties as assigned by your lead.
- Attention to detail, ability to multi-task and flexibility is required
- Assist patient as needed using Clearwave kiosk
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Two (2) years of prior experience as a health care front office assistant/receptionist is preferred.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider CPR card is required.
- Pre-employment screening on candidates is a part of our standard hiring process. Performance & Physical Requirements:
- Basic knowledge of MS Office, Word and Excel.
- Bilingual English/ Spanish, English/ Hmong or English/ Punjabi preferred.
- Familiar with use of multi-line phone system, including transferring calls.
- Ability to speak clearly and loudly enough to be heard and understood by callers and patients.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with patients, employees, physicians and the public.
- Involves sitting approximately 80 percent of the day, walking or standing the remainder.
