Job Description
Hire Up Staffing is seeking a highly organized, bilingual (English/Spanish) Medical Front/Back Office Assistant with experience in medical billing. This role will involve a variety of tasks in both the front and back office, including administrative duties, patient care coordination, scheduling, and medical billing for chiropractic services. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills in both English and Spanish, strong knowledge of insurance verification, medical billing, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
This office offers extended patient hours, overtime hours should be expected on a regular basis.
Pay: $22-26 depending on experience
Key Responsibilities:
Front Office Responsibilities:
- Greet patients in a friendly and professional manner in both English and Spanish.
- Answer phones, respond to inquiries, and schedule patient appointments in both languages.
- Manage patient check-in and check-out procedures.
- Maintain patient records, ensuring all information is up-to-date and accurate.
- Verify patient insurance information and collect co-pays, balances, and payments.
- Coordinate patient flow to ensure smooth operation of the office.
- Handle patient correspondence, including appointment reminders and follow-ups in both languages.
Back Office Responsibilities:
- Assist with patient intake and preparation for chiropractic adjustments.
- Prepare treatment areas and maintain cleanliness and order.
- Assist the chiropractor with patient care as needed.
- Ensure proper documentation and charting of treatments and patient progress.
- Educate patients on the treatment process and provide instructions as directed by the chiropractor, in both English and Spanish.
Medical Billing Responsibilities:
- Accurately process and submit insurance claims for chiropractic services.
- Review and follow up on unpaid or denied claims.
- Communicate with insurance companies to resolve billing issues and discrepancies.
- Post payments, adjust balances, and maintain accurate financial records.
- Prepare billing reports and assist with financial statements as needed.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other relevant healthcare regulations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree in Medical Billing and Coding or Medical Assistant Certificate preferred.
- 1 or more years of experience in medical office administration and billing, preferably in a chiropractic or healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of medical billing codes and insurance verification.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in both languages.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a busy environment.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical office compliance.
