Job Title: Medical Records & Disability Clerk
Location: Fresno, CA
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Records & Disability Clerk to support a busy medical office. This role focuses on maintaining patient medical records, processing disability-related paperwork. This role supports patients, healthcare providers, insurance companies, and government agencies Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates are highly preferred
Schedule:
- Monday - Friday
- 8:00am – 5:00pm
Pay:
- $18.00 -$21.00
Essential Job Functions:
- Process requests for medical records from patients, physicians, insurance companies, attorneys, and government agencies.
- Prepare and submit disability paperwork, including state disability, workers’ compensation, FMLA, and other leave-of-absence forms.
- Verify accuracy and completeness of medical documentation before submission.
- Scan, file, fax, and upload medical documents into electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Assist patients with completing forms and understanding required documentation.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Maintain, organize, and update patient medical records in electronic and paper filing systems.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of medical office experience
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- High school diploma or GED required
Skills:
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure
- Proficient with computers, phones, and standard office systems
