Mill Operations Manager – Direct Hire
Location: Marianna, AR
Salary: $75,000 annually
Hire Up Staffing is searching for a Mill Operations Manager for a well-established client in Marianna, Arkansas. This is a direct-hire opportunity with a strong organization whose products are used on a national level.
We are seeking a dependable, resilient, hands-on leader who is comfortable managing both people and plant operations. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a mill, manufacturing, production, agricultural processing, or similar industrial environment and be willing to step in when needed to troubleshoot equipment and keep operations moving.
This is not a traditional office management position. The Mill Operations Manager will oversee daily production while working closely with employees, contractors, and company leadership to maintain a safe, productive, and efficient facility.
Essential Responsibilities:

Direct and manage plant employees responsible for production and cleaning operations.

Provide leadership, guidance, and direction to employees while maintaining strong day-to-day working relationships with the existing team.

Coordinate and direct outside contractors performing mill equipment repairs and maintenance.

Monitor production rates and prepare production forecasts and estimates as needed.

Coordinate production activities and make operational decisions to maintain workflow and productivity.

Implement, monitor, and enforce company safety policies and procedures.

Manage, maintain, and inspect mill equipment.

Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform or coordinate necessary repairs.

Utilize hands-on mechanical skills, including basic motor wiring and equipment troubleshooting.

Perform basic welding, cutting, and fabrication as needed to repair or maintain plant equipment. This position does not require fabrication from the ground up but does require the ability to find practical solutions when equipment breaks down.

Resolve personnel and operational issues as they arise.

Monitor environmental conditions affecting plant operations.

Implement and maintain food safety standards and HACCP-related procedures.

Maintain open communication with parent companies and company leadership.

Coordinate facility projects and improvements.

Review and approve invoices for payment and forward appropriate documentation to the PNG office.

Monitor and manage mill operational costs.

Enter and maintain basic operational and production information using spreadsheet-style computer systems.
Qualifications & Skills:

Previous experience in mill operations, manufacturing, production, agricultural processing, plant operations, or a similar industrial environment preferred.

Previous leadership or management experience with the ability to direct and develop employees.

Working knowledge of HACCP or food safety standards preferred. HACCP certification is not required; the company can provide certification.

Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and address equipment issues.

Basic motor and electrical wiring knowledge.

Ability to perform basic welding, cutting, and fabrication for equipment repair and maintenance.

Basic computer skills and the ability to enter information accurately into spreadsheets and company systems.

Ability to monitor production data and develop forecasts or estimates when needed.

Strong communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

Dependable transportation and ability to reliably report to the facility as scheduled.

Must be comfortable working in a demanding, hands-on plant environment.

Consistent and reliable attendance is essential to this leadership position.

College degree is not required.
Work Schedule:
-
Monday through Saturday
-
6:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Must be available on-call for equipment breakdowns and repairs as needed.
Compensation & Benefits:

$75,000 annually
