Non CDL Driver
Job Description
Hire Up Staffing is seeking an experienced Non-CDL Driver for a temporary coverage opportunity in Fredericksburg, VA. This position will be responsible for safely delivering electrical products to commercial and residential customers while also assisting with order preparation and loading.
Position Details
- Pay: $24/hour
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM or until work is completed
- Assignment: Approximately 1 month, with possibility of extension
- Driving: Approximately 75% of the workday
- Mileage: Up to 150 miles round trip per day
- Vehicle: 24–26 ft. box truck, cargo van, or 26 ft. flatbed depending on load
- Medical Card: Required
- Safely operate assigned delivery vehicle and transport electrical products to customers.
- Deliver electrical wires, conduit, and other electrical materials to residential and commercial locations.
- Sort, pack, organize, load, and unload orders for delivery.
- Safely handle materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Use dollies, hand trucks, pallet jacks, and liftgates as needed.
- Follow assigned delivery routes and maintain timely deliveries.
- Obtain customer signatures or warehouse scans to confirm deliveries.
- Communicate with dispatch and management regarding delivery updates or issues.
- Complete vehicle inspections before and after trips and report any maintenance concerns.
- Maintain accurate driving, delivery, and work-hour records.
- Monitor weather and road conditions and adjust driving accordingly.
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle.
- Follow all company safety procedures, DOT requirements, and applicable traffic laws.
- Provide professional and courteous customer service at every delivery.
- Non-CDL/Class C, D, or E license with an excellent driving record.
- 3–5 years of professional driving experience preferred; 2+ years required.
- Experience safely operating large vehicles, including maneuvering and parking.
- Valid medical card.
- Must be at least 21 years old due to insurance requirements.
- Clean driving record with no moving violations.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Detail-oriented, reliable, and efficient.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. and performing delivery-related duties.
- Able to work independently while following established routes and procedures.
