Job Description
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, administration, and facility management. (required)
- 10 + years of progressive engineering and maintenance experience in an extrusion manufacturing equipment plant environment with at least five years of management experience with skilled technical personnel.
- Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
- Familiarity in drafting and understanding blueprints and schematics.
- Effective communication and people management skills
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have good PC skills, including Microsoft Office software knowledge, SAP, essential web tools, and computer-aided design and engineering knowledge.
- Must have excellent communication skills and an aptitude for detailed work requiring high accuracy.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following AND other duties as assigned.
- Follows the capital improvement programs, assists with plant maintenance efforts, and assures that plant maintenance remains within budget.
- Directs and supports maintenance efforts to aid and improve equipment efficiencies with minimal downtime.
- Responsible for developing engineered solutions for plant safety and environmental issues.
- Assisting and mentoring principal contacts, such as other engineers, plant manufacturing personnel, maintenance mechanics, electricians, and other similar personnel, within and outside the plant through technical expertise, training, and project leadership.
- Drives initiatives that relate to the environment, Health and safety, Quality, People, Cost, Growth and Continuous Improvement. Ensures all Engineering and Maintenance Team members understand and believe that overall safety is our priority.
- Provides expert process knowledge and applies engineering science to establish and maintain control and capability for production processes and for continuously improving technology.
- Maintains high internal control over assigned functional areas and adequately implements programs to manage risks consistent with Irrigation expectations. This involves continuous improvement and compliance. Â Utilizing Lean Manufacturing philosophies.
- Recognizes the need, investigates feasibility, and implements advanced concepts and significant improvements in all production areas to maintain and enhance the facility’s economic position.
- Provides creative, innovative, and comprehensive problem-solving capability.
PLANT CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM:
· Assists in preparing plant capital plan.
· Prepares cost estimates for projects.
· Oversees preparation of capital Requests for Authorization and Return on InvestmentÂ
· Manages all phases of the Capital Project implementation process.
· Manages the location’s capital budget.
· Ensures contractor safe practices are met and all necessary safety evaluations are performed
