Job Description
Hire Up Healthcare is currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our client's team as a Patient Accounting Follow-Up Associate. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, onsite.
Position Overview: As a Patient Accounting Follow-Up Associate, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely follow-up and resolution of all claims. The successful candidate will have 1+ years of billing/follow-up/AR experience in an acute setting, strong math acumen, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and follow up on unpaid accounts to ensure prompt payment from payers and patients, preventing aging of AR
- Provide feedback to the billers to ensure accurate billing and minimize delays in reimbursement.
- Process adjustments, write-offs, and account reclassifications on claims, including denials.
- Research incorrect payments and send correspondence
- Maintain accurate records on patients' account financial status and stay updated on regulatory changes
- Demonstrate knowledge of billing and follow-up procedures
Qualifications:
- High school education preferred
- 1+ years of specialized billing experience in an acute setting.
- Strong mathematical ability to review statistical data on various financial records.
- Proficiency with 10 key adding machine and typing (accuracy is prioritized over speed).
Requirements:
- HS diploma required
- Must clear facility pre-employment requirements, including immunizations, physical, drug screen, and background check
Compensation:
- Pay range: $19-$24/hr to start, depending on experience
