Certified Payroll & Prevailing Wage Compliance Specialist
Location: Fresno, CA
Pay: $25–$30/hour
Industry: Construction
Schedule: Monday–Thursday 7:00am–4:00pm | Friday 7:00am–3:30pm
Work Type: In-person | Full-time
A well-established construction company is seeking an experienced Certified Payroll & Prevailing Wage Compliance Specialist to join their team in Fresno. This role is essential in ensuring full compliance with California Prevailing Wage laws, Federal Davis-Bacon requirements, and related project labor regulations.
We are looking for someone highly detail-oriented, organized, and confident working directly with project teams and subcontractors to maintain payroll compliance across multiple active projects.
Key Responsibilities
• Review subcontractor certified payroll reports for compliance with federal, state, and project-specific requirements
• Prepare accurate in-house certified payroll using Sage 100 Contractor
• Submit payroll reports to compliance systems including DIR and LCP Tracker
• Prepare pre-job compliance documents such as DAS 140 and DAS 142
• Advise project managers on prevailing wage requirements and subcontractor documentation
• Communicate directly with subcontractors to ensure proper reporting and corrections
• Coordinate with third-party compliance firms and respond to payroll RFIs
• Conduct routine audits to identify and resolve noncompliance issues and reduce risk exposure
Required Qualifications
• Minimum 2+ years of experience in construction certified payroll and prevailing wage compliance
• Strong working knowledge of California Prevailing Wage and Davis-Bacon regulations
• Experience using Sage 100 Contractor or similar construction accounting software
• Familiarity with DIR reporting and LCP Tracker
• Excellent attention to detail and documentation accuracy
• Strong communication skills when working with field teams and subcontractors
