Phlebotomist
Job Description
Job Title: Phlebotomist
Location: Visalia, CA
Job Summary:
Phlebotomist will be reliable, motivated and resourceful, as well as have experience in drawing patients of all ages. The Phlebotomist performs age specific venipuncture and capillary puncture, and processes specimens for transport. The Phlebotomist answers phones, provides clerical support for the laboratory, ensures performance and safety standards are met and inventory and supplies are stocked appropriately. The Phlebotomist serves as a liaison for the laboratory and interacts with physicians, nurses and lab assistants.
Schedule:
- Monday _ Friday
- 7:30am – 4:30pm
Pay:
- $22.00 DOE
Essential Job Functions:
- Perform age-specific venipuncture and capillary puncture
- Process specimens for transport
- Answer phones and provide clerical support for the laboratory
- Ensure performance and safety standards are met
- Maintain inventory and restock supplies as needed
- Serve as a liaison for the laboratory and interact with physicians, nurses, and lab assistants
Requirements:
- American Heart Association
- Good critical thinking and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient with medical terminology, with an understanding of computer systems
- High School Education/GED or equivalent
- Must have 3 years of experience
- Must be willing to travel Wednesday to the Hanford location
