Job Description
Hire Up Staffing is currently hiring for a Prepress Operator for a client located in Fresno, CA.
Pay Rate: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour DOE
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM (Occasional overtime when necessary)
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow safety and operating procedures for all production and ancillary equipment, reporting safety hazards.
- Clean and inspect plates for defects, file them appropriately, and report defects for replacements.
- Mount and demount plates as required by production, verifying plate quality before use.
- Mix and color match inks using Pantone guides and equipment, managing unused ink inventory.
- Record traceability and inventory data in the ink management system to ensure accurate tracking.
- Issue and conduct cycle counts of raw materials, requisitioning replacements as necessary.
- Operate forklift for material handling as assigned.
- Print and prioritize work orders according to the production schedule for timely completion.
- Assist press operators with setups, cleanups, and provide support to packers/rewinders.
- Perform routine maintenance on production equipment and maintain a clean work environment.
- Document timekeeping, housekeeping tasks, and preventative maintenance activities.
- Meet or exceed label production targets (KPIs) and participate in periodic production meetings.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education equivalent (GED) required.
- Certificate in Flexographic Printing preferred.
- Experience with Flexographic inks and printing processes.
- Prior experience as an ink or plate technician is desirable.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team.
- Punctual and dependable with strong accountability.
- Calm demeanor, able to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to travel to other Sinclair production sites when needed.
