Job Description

Hire Up Staffing is currently hiring for a Pre-Press/Break Operator for our establish client located in Fresno, CA.

Pay: $21.00-$24.00 DOE
Schedule: M-F 1:15pm-9:45pm

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Adheres to all safety and operational procedures for plant and ancillary equipment, promptly reporting any safety hazards to the supervisor.
  2. Operates a multi-station flexographic printing press, including an automatic splicer with up to 6-color stations, UV curing system, die stations, TABLIFT® unit, turret rewinder, and LVS.
  3. Troubleshoots any press and printing issues as they arise to ensure smooth operations.
  4. Inspects work order set-ups and continuously monitors production runs to identify and address quality defects.
  5. Verifies labels against specifications and Sinclair standards to ensure compliance.
  6. Tracks die and plate life in accordance with established requirements.
  7. Provides feedback on the production schedule to Leads, Supervisors, or Managers to enhance production efficiencies.
  8. Performs routine maintenance on production equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  9. Completes all necessary documentation, including daily time sheets, housekeeping logs, and weekly/monthly/yearly press preventive maintenance sheets.
  10. Meets or exceeds label production targets (KPIs) and actively participates in continuous improvement projects as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Maintains cleanliness of the work area, machines, and equipment.
  • May be required to travel to remote manufacturing plants as assigned.
  • Enters maintenance requests as needed to support equipment functionality.
  • Attends weekly production departmental meetings and contributes insights as necessary.
  • Cross-trains in all label production departments to ensure flexibility and operational efficiency.
  • Completes additional projects and duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) is required.
  • Certificate in flexographic printing is preferred.

Experience:
  • Completion of in-house job-specific training with a successful track record.
  • Mechanical and technical experience related to printing operations.
  • Proven experience with flexographic printing processes.
  • Experience operating similar machinery effectively.
  • General understanding of Mark Andy and Nilpeter systems with a minimum of 2 years in the field.
