Job Description
Hire Up Staffing is seeking a dedicated Eligibility Clerk for a prominent County client in the Visalia area. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a mission-driven team. Job Overview
In this role, you will play a vital part in the housing application process—from initial interviews to verifying eligibility and maintaining residency compliance. We are looking for a detail-oriented professional who can navigate complex information and provide clear guidance to applicants and residents at the Visalia area office.
Key Responsibilities

Applicant Processing: Conduct interviews with housing applicants, process new applications, and verify eligibility and housing status.

Occupancy Management: Determine resident eligibility for continued occupancy and perform regular resident re-examinations.

Financial & Data Entry: Establish rent amounts and accurately calculate various leasing and occupancy figures.

Compliance & Verification: Verify statements from residents and external sources, ensuring all information is gathered from appropriate channels.

Reporting & Documentation: Compile and prepare statistical reports, update computer databases, and establish/maintain organized filing systems.

Public Relations: Explain conditions of occupancy and program requirements to residents clearly and professionally.
Requirements & Qualifications

Experience: Two (2) years of general office or clerical experience is required. Specialized Experience: Must have prior professional experience determining eligibility for assistance programs.

Education: High school diploma or GED required.

Bilingual Skills: Proficiency in Spanish is required to serve the community effectively.

Technical Skills: Highly proficient with a 10-key calculator and standard office software.

Testing: Ability to pass an Eligibility Clerk assessment (must be taken at the Hire Up office).

Screening: Must be able to pass a drug test and a comprehensive background check.
Compensation

$23.31 per hour
