Pump Mechanic
Job Description
Hire Up Staffing has partnered with a reputable industrial manufacturing facility in the Southeast Houston area that is looking to add a skilled Service Pump Tech to its team.

What You’ll Be Working On
- Industrial process pumps, API 610 pumps, in-line and vertical configurations
- Single-stage and multi-stage pumping equipment
- Split-case, barrel-style, and packaged pumping systems
- Vertical and horizontal applications across multiple industries
Key Responsibilities
- Perform service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation of pumping equipment
- Replace and set mechanical seals, bearings, and rotating assemblies
- Conduct alignment, balancing, vibration checks, and final quality testing
- Disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble pumps and rotating equipment to API standards
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues
- Perform machining and fabrication work as needed (cutting, welding, fitting)
- Install and commission pumps and complete pumping systems
- Complete service documentation, work orders, parts lists, and service reports
- Test all repaired equipment to ensure performance and quality standards are met
- Provide professional, customer-focused service in the shop and in the field
Required Experience & Skills
- Familiarity with lockout/tagout procedures and industrial safety standards
- Experience operating forklifts, overhead cranes, and rigging equipment
- Working knowledge of electric motor wiring and testing
- Ability to read mechanical drawings, exploded views, and parts lists
- Experience with mechanical seals, bearings, alignment tools, and vibration analysis
- 9+ years of hands-on pump repair experience
- Strong knowledge of rotating equipment and fluid handling systems

- Ability to pass drug, alcohol, and background screening
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
