Job Description
Hire Up Staffing is seeking a Purchasing Agent in Gulfport, MS.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and procure materials and components used in manufacturing operations
- Maintain accurate purchase records and vendor data, primarily within QuickBooks
- Communicate with suppliers to negotiate pricing, delivery timelines, and terms
- Work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to align purchasing with operational needs
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure materials are ordered as needed to support production schedules
- Evaluate vendor performance and build strong supplier partnerships
- Ensure all purchasing activities follow company policies and industry standards
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a purchasing or procurement role, ideally within a manufacturing environment
- Proficiency with QuickBooks is required
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
- Excellent organizational and communication abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
- High attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Preferred Experience
- Experience purchasing materials for marine, industrial, or heavy manufacturing industries
- Familiarity with manufacturing components and supply chain processes
