Purchasing Manager / Materials Planner
Salary: $75,000 - $78,000 annually
Hours: 6 AM - 4 PM, Monday - Friday (with potential for overtime)
Location: Fresno, CA
We are partnering with a prominent manufacturing company that is seeking a driven Purchasing Manager to enhance their team. This pivotal role focuses on aligning production schedules with precise inventory purchasing to meet customer demands, ensuring the seamless operation of the manufacturing process. The ideal candidate will bring robust production planning expertise and advanced Excel proficiency, helping the company continue to deliver exceptional service to its customers.
Role Overview:
As a key player in the supply chain, you will manage supplier coordination and optimize inventory levels to support our business goals. The role demands strong communication skills across multiple levels and a knack for critical thinking. You must be adaptable to a dynamic work environment and ready to shift priorities as needed. You'll also be responsible for cultivating effective relationships with customer service, inventory control, logistics, production, and other internal teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the initiation, execution, and maintenance of supply plans aligned with forecasted demand.
- Plan and adjust material supply schedules in response to changing business needs.
- Review, control, and continuously improve supply processes and methodologies.
- Oversee inventory transfers between warehouses to meet customer needs while maintaining service and inventory standards.
- Collaborate with operational management to implement inventory strategies, including reducing obsolete or discontinued stock.
- Develop and track key performance metrics, such as out-of-stock rates, on-time delivery, and lead time conformance, to ensure optimal efficiency.
- Establish and nurture strong business relationships with all approved suppliers, ensuring compliance with company standards.
Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience in operational planning with a focus on MRP and supply chain execution in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally across various organizational levels.
- Strong data-driven decision-making abilities, incorporating diverse inputs.
- Problem-solving skills to handle dynamic situations under tight deadlines or in high-pressure environments.
- Proactive in expanding business knowledge independently.
- Proficiency in MS Office, with advanced expertise in Excel.
- Fluent in verbal and written English.
