Quality Control Manager

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 am – 4:00 pm
Salary: $90,000 DOE
Are you an experienced Quality Control Manager with a strong background in the structural steel industry? We are seeking a detail-oriented professional to oversee quality assurance processes, ensure compliance with industry standards, and maintain exceptional quality in structural steel fabrication and construction projects.
Position Overview:
As the Quality Control Manager, you will play a critical role in monitoring and enhancing the quality of materials and processes. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with industry standards, resolving non-conformance issues, and driving continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspections: Perform dimensional and visual inspections during shop fabrication to ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Non-Conformance Tracking: Create and maintain in-process non-conformance reports, documenting findings and corrective actions.
- Third-Party Coordination: Collaborate with 3rd-party inspectors to address and resolve quality concerns.
- AISC Audits: Lead preparation and manage compliance for AISC certification audits.
- Drawing Review: Review structural drawings to confirm accuracy and adherence to project requirements.
- Training: Provide guidance to production teams on quality standards and inspection procedures.
- Problem-Solving: Address and resolve quality-related issues efficiently, implementing corrective and preventive measures.
- Reporting: Maintain detailed quality control records and prepare reports for management and clients as needed.
- Safety Compliance: Promote adherence to safety protocols and best practices in all quality processes.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement strategies to enhance efficiency and quality.
- 10+ years of experience as a Quality Control Manager in the structural steel industry.
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification (must provide proof).
- Strong understanding of AISC standards and experience with AISC audits.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting structural drawings.
- Experience working with and coordinating 3rd-party inspections.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with quality control tools and software.
- Knowledge of advanced inspection technologies.
- Experience in a high-paced manufacturing or construction environment.
