Job Description
Hire Up Healthcare is looking for Registered Nurses that would be interested in joining a group of 8th graders on a 7 day, 6 night camping field trip to Big Bend National Park! This is a fun opportunity to make some money while caring for kids away at camp.
Weekly pay package: $1,750 (meals, transportation included. Must provide your own camping gear, tent, sleeping bag, etc)
March 25, 2023- March 31, 2023- week long camp
Will travel from school site in Houston, TX
Responsibilities:
- The daily administration of medications, including oral and topical ointments and possibly injections
- Monitoring of general health
- Administration of over-the-counter medications such as Tylenol, Advil, Zyrtec, Benadryl, etc.
- Providing basic first aid for abrasions, cuts, insect bites, bruises, etc.
- Notify the appropriate guardian in the event of a medical emergency or incident.
- Assisting with preventative health, such as sunscreen, electrolytes, hydration
- Working in the mornings and evenings depending on medicine schedules
- Perform nursing assessments, and implement nursing interventions as guided by nursing judgment
- Possibly assisting with the chaperoning of daily hikes, canoeing, or other activities as you feel fit to do so
Requirements:
- CPR certified
- First Aid certified
- Current TX RN licensure
- Ability to chaperone physical activities such as canoeing, hiking, and other events at camp
