Route Supervisor
Job Description
HireUp Staffing is looking for a Route Supervisor to lead operations and build strong teams with one of our Clients!
Pay: $73,000.00 – $78,000.00 Annually Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday (Field-based) This is DIRECT HIRE opportunity!
Duties:

Lead Operations: Direct and supervise daily route operations to ensure safe, compliant, and on-time service delivery.

Frontline Leadership: This is a hands-on role—if a team member is out sick, you will be expected to step in and fill the gap to keep the mission moving.

Team Accountability: Lead, coach, and hold drivers and helpers accountable through ride-alongs, road evaluations, and performance discussions.

Operational Efficiency: Monitor route productivity and labor utilization; analyze challenges to implement practical, real-time solutions.

Safety & Compliance: Ensure full compliance with DOT, CHP, and company safety regulations; lead safety meetings and investigate incidents.

Communication: Serve as the primary field contact for drivers; resolve customer service issues decisively and professionally.

Talent Development: Support onboarding and training of new drivers, including conducting road tests and skill assessments.

Collaboration: Work closely with dispatch, maintenance, and customer service teams to maintain operational continuity.
Requirements:
-
3+ years of experience in transportation, fleet, logistics, or route-based operations.

Prior supervisory experience is required within Solid Waste or Recycling industry. (proven ability to lead field teams).

Valid Class A or B CDL is a MUST with air break endrosement (ready to drive when needed).

Critical Thinking: Ability to assess operational risk and make sound decisions under pressure.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal skills to articulate direction and feedback clearly.

Technical Proficiency: Experience with Microsoft Office and workforce management systems (ADP is a plus).

Physical Ability: Comfortable with significant outdoor work in varying weather conditions and active engagement with equipment.
Preferences:

Experience in waste or recycling industries.

Knowledge of DOT and regulatory compliance.
