Job Description

Hire Up Staffing is currently seeking a Senior Buyer (medical) for a 12-week contract in Irving, TX. 

Schedule: 8am-5pm; M-F (on-site)
Pay starts at $20/hr. 

Minimum Requirements:
  • 3 years of experience in procurement or purchasing
  • Healthcare industry experience preferred
Summary: Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the Senior Buyer supports various departments by facilitating supply and equipment orders essential for patient care, facility upkeep, and administrative functions. The Senior Buyer actively investigates and resolves challenging purchase orders, procuring alternative product details when necessary. Additionally, the Senior Buyer is tasked with generating daily reports and actively engaging in opportunities for process enhancement. 

  • Demonstrates proficiency in relevant company competencies.
  • Generates and disseminates end-of-day productivity reports to Managers. 
  • Manages the processing of purchase requests for a designated geographical area, ensuring timely processing and resolution of any issues with orders. Utilizes available reports to verify the status of previous day's orders and ensure their processing. 
  • Processes specialized purchase orders in accordance with company policies and standard processes. 
  • Addresses incorrect requisitions or failed order transmissions promptly. 
  • Handles STAT requests by manually processing them for overnight delivery, tracks their progress, and communicates any delays to the facility/requester in advance of the expected delivery. 
  • Addresses prolonged delivery delays by exploring alternative sourcing options, liaising with vendor representatives for substitutes, and obtaining facility approval before proceeding. Raises unresolved issues to Clinical staff if substitute options are unavailable or unacceptable.
