Service Manager – Dispatch & Field Operations
Location: Fresno, CA
Pay: $25–$28/hour to start | $70,000/year upon full-time conversion
Schedule: Full-time | (90–180 Day Trial Period)
We are hiring an experienced Service Manager to lead our dispatch and field operations for a well-established equipment and machinery company based in Fresno. Our company provides essential equipment that requires regular servicing and supply refills to remain operational at customer job sites across California.
This position oversees a team of 20 field service technicians and is responsible for managing daily service calls, technician scheduling, parts coordination, and client communications. The ideal candidate has experience managing a team of 8 or more employees, with proven ability to handle scheduling, workload assignments, and performance tracking.

Key Responsibilities
Dispatch & Field Technician Management

Supervise and support a team of 20 field service technicians across California

Create and maintain daily/weekly technician schedules for service calls, repairs, and preventative maintenance (PMs)

Dispatch technicians based on priority, skill set, and geographic location to maximize productivity

Coordinate and communicate service information via phone and email—handling emergency requests, service orders, and customer issues

Track technician performance, workload balance, and provide coaching or direction as needed

Act as the main point of contact between customers and technicians, ensuring service expectations are met
Parts Inventory Management

Order and maintain stock of replacement parts for in-office and field technician use

Place special orders based on specific client needs or equipment requirements

Ensure accurate inventory levels to prevent service delays
Customer Communication & Reporting

Communicate directly with clients to confirm appointments, resolve concerns, and provide service updates

Follow up regularly with clients to ensure preventative maintenance is scheduled and performed properly

Keep organized records of client purchases, job requests, equipment status, and technician activity

Coordinate with the Billing Department to maintain accurate files and assist with quotes and invoicing
Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with internal departments to ensure service efficiency and a high level of customer satisfaction

Identify service trends or recurring issues and recommend process improvements
Requirements

Minimum 5 years of experience in service dispatch, account management, or operations coordination

Proven experience managing a team of 8 or more employees, including responsibility for scheduling, workload management, and performance oversight

Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to coordinate moving parts across multiple locations

Proficiency in scheduling tools, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office (especially Excel)

Experience in mechanical services, equipment maintenance, or field service industries preferred

Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks and stay calm in fast-paced environments
Compensation

Trial Period (Temp-to-Hire): $25–$28/hour, based on experience

Full-Time Conversion: $70,000 annual salary after a successful 90–180 day evaluation period
