Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 am – 3:45 pm
Hourly Wage: $30 – $32 DOE
Are you an experienced Shipping and Receiving professional with strong leadership skills? We are seeking a Shipping and Receiving Manager to oversee freight logistics, manage employees operating heavy-duty forklifts, and organize the movement of oversized deliveries. This is a hands-on supervisory role requiring multitasking, motivation, and long-term commitment.
Position Overview:
As the Shipping and Receiving Manager, you will ensure the smooth flow of materials and deliveries, supervise a team of employees, and play an active role in operating forklifts. You will manage oversized shipments and ensure that all logistics are handled efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervision: Manage and lead a team of employees operating 1-ton forklifts to handle oversized freight deliveries.
- Hands-On Operations: Spend approximately 50% of your time operating forklifts and assisting with logistics tasks.
- Freight Coordination: Organize and oversee the shipping and receiving of large, oversized deliveries to meet project schedules.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all operations adhere to safety protocols and industry standards.
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing shipments and inventory levels.
- Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to improve shipping and receiving processes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Problem-Solving: Address and resolve any logistical challenges or delays effectively.
- Communication: Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to streamline freight operations.
- Managerial experience in the structural steel industry.
- Dependable, motivated, and committed to long-term employment.
- Experience operating 1-ton forklifts and handling oversized freight.
- Strong multitasking, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead a team and maintain high safety standards.
- Familiarity with inventory management software or systems.
- Experience managing logistics in a fast-paced construction or manufacturing environment.
