Job Description

Hire Up Staffing & Healthcare is seeking a Social Services Practitioner for a well known hospital in St. Helena, CA. The pay starts at $50-$54/hr. DOE. This is a 12 week assignment with the possibility of being extended. If you are ready to enjoy the coast, Sierra Nevada mountains, and San Francisco, this opportunity is for you! This positions is located in the Napa Valley, a place where you can walk along the local vineyards or bike in the hills. This is a wonderful place to find life and work balance. 

Job Summary:  Renders clinical psychosocial services to the patients and their families of all ages (neonate to geriatric). Assesses patient’s psychosocial needs and makes referrals to appropriate facilities or community agencies; and provides crisis intervention and bereavement counseling.

  • Utilizes effective problem-solving strategies to reach decisions, take appropriate action and follow-through within assigned scope of responsibility.
  • Provides consultation and counseling with patients, families, staff, and others in the service of patients.
  • Participates in departmental and interdisciplinary meetings and activities.
  • Obtains or coordinates resources from community, social, health and welfare agencies.
  • Provides training for nursing staff to intervene during on-call hours and weekends.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Education and Work Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent (some certifications will require Bachelor’s): Required
  • Master’s Degree in social work or equivalent combination of education/experience: Required
  • Three years' experience in a social agency, hospital, or other organization dealing with health and/or welfare: Preferred
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW): Preferred
