Location: In-office
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 am – 4:00 pm
Salary: $69,000 – $71,000 DOE
Are you a detail-oriented professional with a degree in engineering and a passion for structural steel design? We are seeking a Construction Design Assistant to review and ensure the accuracy, quality, and compliance of structural steel fabrication and erection drawings. This role requires a solid understanding of steel construction processes, fabrication methods, and erection techniques.
Position Overview:
As a Construction Design Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring that all structural steel drawings align with project specifications, codes, and industry standards. Your technical expertise will support the team in delivering high-quality and precise construction plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drawing Review: Examine structural steel fabrication and erection drawings for accuracy, quality, and compliance with design specifications and codes.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all drawings meet industry standards and required specifications.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, project managers, and fabrication teams to clarify design details and resolve discrepancies.
- Standards Compliance: Verify that all designs adhere to applicable codes and regulations.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of drawing reviews and revisions for project tracking.
- Problem-Solving: Identify and address potential issues in design or fabrication processes proactively.
- Technical Support: Provide expertise on structural steel construction, fabrication methods, and erection techniques to the broader team.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (required).
- Strong understanding of steel construction processes, fabrication methods, and erection techniques.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting structural steel drawings.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and communicate technical details effectively.
- Familiarity with CAD or other design software.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and codes.
- Previous experience in structural steel design or detailing is a plus.
