Tractor/Diesel Mechanic
Job Description
Hire Up Staffing is seeking an experienced Tractor Mechanic for our client in the Bakersfield/Buttonwillow area. This is a Direct Hire opportunity with a pay rate of $28–$40/hour, depending on experience.
Schedule: 45–60 hours per week, working 12 days on / 2 days off.
Job Summary:
Repair and maintain diesel and gas-powered off-road equipment, including agricultural tractors, construction equipment, stationary engines, various harvesters, and portable irrigation pumps.
Duties & Responsibilities:

Perform troubleshooting and repairs on off-road equipment, including gas/diesel engines, electrical, hydraulic, air, A/C, and computer systems.

Use analyzers and computer-based software to diagnose equipment performance issues.

Must be trained and certified to service and repair A/C systems.

Drive to the field and work independently on assigned repairs.

Complete approximately 2,400 working hours per year on average.

Follow verbal and written instructions from supervisors and communicate effectively.

Prepare detailed maintenance and technical reports.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

High school diploma.

1.5 years of Diesel Tech School or equivalent experience.

Bilingual Spanish preferred.

Ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, and twist.

Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, and reaching.

Ability to occasionally lift up to 75 lbs.
