Location: Remote (U.S.-based)

Compensation: $36.00 – $42.50 per hour (DOE)
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Mortgage Underwriter to evaluate residential loan applications in accordance with agency and investor guidelines. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, sound risk assessment ability, and the capacity to meet production and quality standards in a fast-paced environment.

Position Summary

Key Responsibilities
- Underwrite Conventional, FHA, and VA mortgage loans
- Ensure loans meet agency and investor guidelines
- Maintain established underwriting turn times
- Underwrite approximately 35–40 loans per month while maintaining quality standards
- Review credit, income, assets, collateral, and compliance documentation
- Communicate loan decisions and conditions clearly to internal teams
- Provide guidance on underwriting scenarios and loan structuring
- Complete additional duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 3–5+ years of recent mortgage underwriting experience (retail, wholesale, or correspondent)
- Strong knowledge of Conventional, FHA, and VA guidelines
- Experience meeting production and quality metrics
- Active Government designation preferred but not required
Skills & Competencies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple files in a deadline-driven environment
- Proficient with underwriting systems (DU, LP, etc.)
- Strong understanding of federal and state mortgage regulations
Work Environment
- Fully remote position (reliable internet required)
- Non-exempt, hourly role
- Overtime paid in accordance with state and federal law
