Wire Cutter
Job Description
Hire Up Staffing is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Wire Cutter for a leading electrical distribution warehouse in Katy, TX.
Pay Rate
- $20.50 per hour
- Monday – Friday
- 1:00 PM – 10:30 PM (or until all work is completed)
- Overtime may be required based on business needs.
As a Wire Cutter, you will be responsible for measuring, cutting, labeling, and staging electrical wire and cable to meet customer order specifications. This position requires excellent attention to detail, the ability to work safely around equipment, and the physical stamina to perform demanding warehouse tasks in a non-climate-controlled environment.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret pick tickets and wire cut labels.
- Measure and cut electrical wire to specified lengths using manual and automated cutting equipment.
- Label wire accurately with part numbers, lengths, and order information.
- Inspect wire for defects or damage before staging.
- Stage completed orders for shipping, verification, or consolidation.
- Safely operate wire cutting machines and material handling equipment.
- Assist with inventory, restocking materials, and changing wire reels.
- Maintain productivity and accuracy standards.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.
- Follow all company safety procedures, including proper PPE usage.
- Report equipment issues, material shortages, or quality concerns to leadership.
- Previous warehouse experience preferred.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work throughout the shift.
- Comfortable working in a warehouse environment that may be hot during the summer months.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to lift, pull, push, and move heavy wire reels and materials.
- Reliable attendance and a positive work ethic.
